The EMAO Education Committee is requesting proposals for the 2026 EMAO Fall and Winter Conferences. Presenting at the conference allows others to benefit from your experience and makes a valuable contribution to the profession's field of knowledge. If you have experienced a challenging incident response, implemented a unique process that has benefitted any phase of an emergency, or created a collaboration of funding or organizations to accomplish strategies or projects, we are particularly interested in your experience.

Today, the Emergency Management Association of Ohio Executive Committee formally voted to join the Ohioans to Protect Public Services Coalition. This broad based coalition has united to explain the serious consequences of eliminating all property taxes on homes and businesses, with no plan to replace the revenue. The coalition has numerous resources available on their website so we encourage you to review.
Additionally, yesterday the AxOHTax, also known as The Committee to Abolish Property Taxes, announced that they have collected 305,000 signatures which is 100,000 signatures short of the required number to get an issue on the November ballot. They have until July 1st to get 413,488 valid signatures to place the constitutional amendment on the November 3rd ballot.
